Here I’ll quickly explain who is responsible for this website (well, who could it possibly be …) and what exactly happens when you visit it or write to me.

What happens when?

Yeah, well, you’re surfing around here, so of course you leave a few traces. That’s something the internet simply can’t avoid.

BUT let’s make this as painless as possible.

1. My landlord on the internet (Hosting)
This website lives at IONOS SE (Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany). When you visit floo.eu, their server technically records when you were here, which browser you use and what your IP address is – although that one gets shortened.

Think of it as the safety belt for this website. It has to be there.
(Legal basis: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR – legitimate interest in keeping this place up and running.)

2. Reaching for the contact form
If you write to me through the contact form, I’ll obviously read it. Anything else would be rather silly.

So, logically, your name, email address and whatever you want to tell me will be processed as well. It doesn’t disappear into some mysterious database, but simply arrives in my inbox as a perfectly normal email.

If your message is about a business enquiry, the legal basis is taking steps before entering into a contract (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR). Otherwise, it’s because you and I – the two of us – rather like being able to communicate with each other (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR).

3. Sound, pictures and YouTube
Floo-Soongs, pictures and audio come directly from my own server.

I embed YouTube videos in a way that lets them keep having a little nap until you actively give them a nudge. Only after you click on them is a connection made to Google/YouTube – whenever possible via youtube-nocookie.com, which is a little more economical with data.

From that point on, unfortunately, their rules apply.
